SPRING, TX — Elizabeth “Betty” Mae Hassell (Nee Blau), age 61, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 in her home in Spring, Texas surrounded by her family at her bedside.

Betty was born in Laurium, MI on February 26, 1962.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth “Betty” Blau (Nee Thomas) and Robert E. Blau Sr, as well as her son Jason Tyler Peterson.

Betty is the wife of Paul Hassell who loved and cared for her dearly, beloved mother of Rachel Peterson (Chayne) and Morgan Peterson, and cherished grandmother of Harlow and Regan.

Betty was raised in Milwaukee, WI where she graduated from Pius XI High School in 1980, and soon after moved to Texas. She taught special education at Jenkins Elementary School.

She found joy through dancing, singing and watching the Packers beat the Bears. She had a passion for her faith, teaching, and making memories among family and friends.

May she rest in peace, leaving behind a tapestry of beautiful memories.
