Shirley L. Laurin

Shirley was born in Detroit, May 4, 1936, the daughter of the late Lila and Edwin Ruonavar. Shirley was raised in the UP, Keweenaw Peninsula, city of Gay, MI, where her most cherished memories originated. She was a secretary for 30 years at Eaton Corp.

Shirley is the loving wife of Andy; beloved mother of Cheri Otzenberger (nee Laurin) and Gary Laurin; cherished grandmother of Corey and Chelsea.

A funeral service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held Wednesday, December 13, at 1 p.m., at the Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home, 23720 Farmington Rd (btw. 9-10 Mile Rds, N of Grand River) downtown Farmington (248-474-5200). Her family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m.

A private ceremony will follow the service at Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia.

Shirley’s family requests that in lieu flowers, please make a memorial contribution in her name to Oakland County Pet Shelter and Adoption.
