Rita Turin
LUDINGTON, MI — Rita M. Turin, 93 years old, of Ludington, MI, died of complications from COPD on January 20, 2024.
Rita was born in Mass, MI to Waino and Helme Turin. She graduated from Mass High School in 1948. Rita married Joseph Ombrello and together they raised four children, Francis Michael, David Alan, Joseph Robert and Richard Steven. In 1982 Rita graduated from Sinclaire Community College with an RN degree. Rita worked as a psychiatric nurse in Baton Rouge LA. until 1997 when she retired and moved to Ontonagon MI. She lived in Ontonagon until 2012 when she relocated to Ludington MI.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ombrello, her son Joseph R. Ombrello, her sisters and their husbands Janice Carol and Donald Downing and Marjorie Lee and Donald Shires as well as her sister-in-law Mary Lou Turin.
Rita is survived by her sons Francis Michael, David Alan and Richard Steven, her brother William, sister Christine, 11 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
