Irene Frantti
Irene (Storm) Frantti, age 88, of Laurium, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Canal View in Hancock, Michigan. Irene was born on May 21, 1935 to Aaron & Martha (Waara) Storm in Paynesville, Michigan on the Waara Farm.
Irene graduated from L’Anse High School in 1953 and Suomi College in 1954. She moved to Waukegan, Illinois, to work at Abbott Laboratories and then to Detroit to work as a secretary at Ford Motor Company.
She was united in marriage to Paul “Kirby” Frantti on May 26, 1956.
Irene was a lifelong member of the First Apostolic Lutheran Church of Calumet.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Martha Storm, her husband Kirby Frantti, son Tim, infant children, Lisa, Aaron and John Paul, sister Maria Sturos, brother James and brothers-in-law Bob Sturos and Phil Ramberg.
Irene is survived by her children, her daughter Joanne (Matt) Moyryla, daughter-in-law Lori Frantti, son Dan (Kelly) Frantti, son Jonathan Frantti, son Eric (Kari) Frantti, son Chad (Michelle) Frantti, 27 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother Aaron (Janet) Storm, sister-in-law Eva Storm, brother John Paul (Judy) Storm, sister Elizabeth Ramberg, brother Phillip (Mary) Storm, brother David (June) Storm, brother-in-law Don (Gail) Frantti.
A funeral service will be held for Irene Frantti at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the First Apostolic Lutheran Church in Calumet, Michigan. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at the church. Burial will take place later in the spring in the Lake View Cemetery.
