Dennis Robert Baillargeon

CONOVER, WI — Dennis “Denny” Robert Baillargeon, born October 7, 1938 to Homer and Farris Baillargeon and died June 29, 2024.

Dennis was a long time resident of Conover, WI. He served the community through business and volunteer work.

Dennis was born in Lake Linden, MI. He attended Catholic School. He met the love of his life Shirley Raisanen, and they married in 1956. Dennis joined the Army in 1959 and was based in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. After being discharged from the Army they moved to Chicago and in 1968 he made his home in Conover, WI. He and Shirley owned and operated The Village Eat Shoppe in Conover. In 1970 he started his Excavating business, today known as Denny’s Excavating.

Dennis belonged to many organizations over the years, President of the Conover Lions Club, President of the Conover Sno-Buddies, Chamber of Commerce. He was the parade Marshall for the 4th of July Parade in 2016. Dennis was grateful for Conover and always said, “Conover treated him and his family well.”

Dennis was the proud father of 2 children: Denise (Earl) Wilder and Lee (Jacquelyn) Baillargeon all from Conover; grandchildren: Jessica Placek, Trista (Mike) Ecklund, Jared (Melissa) Wilder, Travis (Miranda) Wilder, Corey Baillargeon, Nolan, Casey, James and Tyler; great grandchildren: Camryn, Rayne, May, Freya, Daisy, Parker, Corbyn, Oliver, Colt, Vincent, William, Oaklynn, Sam and Mason.

Dennis was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years: Shirley; parents, great grandchild Harley, brothers: Larry and Albert; sister: Gloria Limback; nephews: Mike, Larry, Steven; and niece: Pattie.

A funeral service will be at noon Monday, July 8, 2024 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Burial at Hildegard Cemetery in Conover followed by a luncheon about 1:30 p.m.
