Ruby Ann Louise Isaacson
Nov. 22, 1942 — Jan. 15, 2025

PORT HURON — Ruby Ann Louise (Lindahl) Isaacson, 82, of Port Huron, Michigan, a native of Iron River, Michigan, long-term resident of Houghton, peacefully passed away on Jan. 15, 2025. She was with her youngest son Erik and his wife Moira, who also live in Port Huron; Ruby moved there in 2018 to be closer to family.
Ruby was born in Iron River on Nov. 22, 1942, the second youngest child of Harold and Martha Lindahl. She attended West Iron County High School, and studied nursing at North Park University. On June 19, 1965, Ruby married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Isaacson, at Grace Covenant Church in Iron River, Michigan. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2015. Chuck passed away in 2016.
A very giving person, Ruby was at the heart of every social gathering she attended. She truly never met a stranger – she was friendly with and interested in everyone with whom she came into contact. For most of her life, Ruby was a proud, involved, and fun stay-at-home mom for Cliff and Erik. She was an accomplished amateur painter, creative crafter, and avid reader. Professionally, she worked as a ward secretary at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, a window stager at Commercial Systems in Houghton, Michigan, as a volunteer for Calumet Hospice in Michigan, and for the St. Clair Council on Aging in Port Huron. She was a longtime member of the Aqua Fit exercise and social group in Houghton, and going to coffee with those friends.
Ruby is survived by her sons, Cliff (Jackie) Isaacson, Erik (Moira) Isaacson; grandchildren, Clark and Luke; Curtis (Grace Buckley) and Scott (Olivia Orr); brother, David (Betty) Lindahl; and several cousins and extended family members, many of whom she spent a great deal of treasured time with on Hagerman Lake throughout her life. She could not have been more proud of her sons and grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck; parents, Harold and Martha Lindahl; and siblings, Curtis, Elder, and Carol.
A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Grace Covenant Church, 316 Jasper Street, Iron River, MI 49935. Memorial services will begin at 10:00 a.m. and a luncheon will follow. Interment will take place at Stambaugh Cemetery. She requested for all who attend to wear bright colors at the service.
Memorials are suggested to Council on Aging of St. Clair County or Grace Covenant Church in Stambaugh.
