Marie Kellan

Marie was born in Hancock on Aug. 17, 1941, to Henry and Marcella (Miller) Kellan.

Marie attended St. Ignatius Loyola Grade School in Houghton and Houghton High School, graduating in 1959. After graduation, Marie worked in several secretarial positions at Michigan Tech until her retirement in 1999.

Marie was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Parish in Houghton, and during her retirement years, she volunteered at the Parish Office. She also volunteered at the Houghton St. Vincent De Paul Store during its final year of operation.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents; and also by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Leonard Dupuis. 

She is survived by nephews, James Dupuis of Mississauga, Ontario, and Donald (Tina) Dupuis; and daughter, Juliette of London, Ontario. Several cousins and their families also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church of Houghton on Monday, June 10, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church one hour before the Mass.

Burial will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton at a later time.

Marie would like to thank the staff of Little Brother Friends of the Elderly for the many trips to Marquette and the staff of the Omega House in Houghton for the care given to her during her stay.
