Megan Manderfield

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Megan Elizabeth Manderfield. She died peacefully at her home in Houghton at the age of 40, surrounded by her family,

Megan was born on April 1, 1985, in Hancock to Kathy and Dave Manderfield. She attended school at the Intermediate School District in Hancock, and later worked in the Adult Day Program at Goodwill Industries.

She loved her family, playing with Legos and puzzles, watching the “Golden Girls” and her favorite movie “Sister Act,” the many car rides she took with her dad, and being teased by her many cousins. She enjoyed the water and summer activities at her home on Portage Lake, as well as snowmobiling in the winter. Megan will be remembered for her cheerful and happy personality and a smile that lit up any room she was in.

She is survived by her parents; her brothers, Adam (Heather) and Jared (Sonya) of Chassell, and David of Detroit; special nephew, Levi of Chassell; and special auntie, Mary Ann Seel of Hancock; along with other numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Dorothy Vollwerth; and her paternal grandparents, Matt and Florence Manderfield.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Rajanee Sripaipan for her kindness, medical expertise, and support during Megan’s lifetime.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Church of the Resurrection in Hancock with Fr. Corey Litzner to officiate. Visitation will be at the Church one hour prior to the Funeral Mass. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Houghton.
