Roger Fedie

Roger Ronald Fedie, aged 68, passed away on Jan. 2, 2025, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He passed away with his wife Lynn by his side, marking the end of a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a fighter to the very end, as stubborn as a rusty bolt that refused to budge, but cancer got the upper hand this time.

Roger graduated from L’Anse High School in 1974. He began his career at Celotex Mill, but in 1979, he decided to swap paper for pistons and headed to the desert heat of Phoenix, Arizona. There, he briefly attended DeVry Technical Institute before finding his true calling as an automotive mechanic.

Roger married his wife, Lynn, in 1983; recently celebrating 41 years of marriage.

He dedicated 25 years to Purcell Tire, where he was known for his expertise and reliability, before retiring. Roger was the quintessential “car guy.” His talent as an automotive mechanic not only paid the bills but fueled his passion for all things mechanical. When he wasn’t under the hood of a car, he was playing handyman at home, much to the delight (and occasional exasperation) of his family.

After enjoying–or perhaps relishing–a brief retirement, Roger couldn’t resist the call of the workforce. He joined Pepsico/Frito-Lay for seven years, ensuring that snacks were delivered with precision, and then rounded out his career at O’Reilly Auto Parts as an auto parts driver for three years.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Fedie; and his youngest brother, Joseph Fedie.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynn Fedie; daughter, Amber Miller; son, Andrew Fedie; daughter, Amy Borchardt; and grandchildren Landon, Dylan, Evan, and Ryan, children of Amber and Stephen. His mother, Beverly Fedie; and brothers, Robert, Duane, and Jim Fedie, will also cherish his memory.

Roger was never happier than when he had a wrench in his hand and a project in the garage. His family fondly remembers him as the one who could fix anything, from leaky faucets to sputtering engines, all while cracking a joke or two. Roger’s spirit lives on through the many lives he touched with his kindness and dedication. His legacy is one of love, hard work, and unwavering determination in the face of adversity.

Roger Ronald Fedie will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. Drive on, Roger, drive on.
