Victoria Juopperi

PAINESDALE — Victoria Juopperi, a resident of Painesdale, passed away at her home in November, 2024.

A private graveside service will be held for Victoria in the Mt. View Cemetery of South Range.

She was born on May 5, 1950, in Hancock a daughter of the late Vaito and Ethel (Kyllonen) Juopperi. Victoria was raised in Painesdale and was a graduate of the Jeffers High School with the class of 1968.

She then moved to Ann Arbor. She worked as a security officer with the University of Michigan and as a police officer in Saline, Michigan. For the past 24 years she made her home in Painesdale.

Victoria was a gifted artist, photographer, and master gardener.  She had a kind heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and a beautiful soul. She loved her family, friends, pets and all animals (especially chickens and songbirds), and gardening.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her brother, Sigurd Michael Toyra; her sister, Mary Ann (Toyra) Junttonen; and her nephew, James “Jamie” Chisholm.

Surviving are her sisters, Jannette (Toyra) Chisholm of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Cheryl (Russell) Lorenz of Iron Mountain, Jill Hruska of Chassell, and Patrice Juopperi of Trimountain; her nephews, Robert Chisholm, Thomas (Danielle) Juopperi, John Hruska; and niece, Emily (David) Lawrence; several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.
