Gail Neber
Feb. 18, 1937 - Aug. 15, 2025

It is with great sadness that the family of Gail C. Neber, 88 a former resident of Dollar Bay, announces her passing after a short illness. Gail passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Tammy with family by her side on Aug. 15, 2025.
Gail was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Viola Kangas. She was raised in Mass City by her grandmother and uncle.
Gail was married to Robert (Bob) Spurr on March 11, 1961. Robert passed away in 1981. Several years later she married William (Bill) Neber on May 20, 1989. William passed away in 2008.
Gail was a 1955 graduate of Mass City school. After graduation, she moved to Washington D.C. to work for the Department of the Navy. In 1957, she moved back to the Copper Country. Gail worked various jobs around the area. But, was proud to have worked at the Michigan Tech Fund until retirement in 1999.
Of course, she couldn’t stand still. She worked part-time (along with her husband Bill Neber) for the Dollar Bay Marathon for 12 years. She really enjoyed seeing and talking to all of the people who stopped in.
Gail was an avid bowler. She was a member of several leagues at both the Ripley Bowling Alley and Miller Lanes in Laurium.
In 2017, she decided to move to Arizona to live with her daughter Tammy. She was immediately welcomed by the residents in this 55+-retirement community.
She enjoyed her morning walks around the community. We wondered why the walks kept getting longer. Found out she was constantly stopping to talk to people. She was a member of the quilting club; she really enjoyed Saturday morning coffee and donuts. She was always going to breakfast or lunch with the Thursday ladies group.
She enjoyed going to the casino; doing Lotto scratch-offs; word puzzle books and watching her game shows on TV.
Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by her mother, grandmother, uncle, and stepson, Bobby Spurr.
Gail is survived by her daughters, Tammy (Marty) Schulze of Mesa, Arizona, Lisa (Mark) Carr of Fenton, Michigan, and Tina Posega of Mesa; stepdaughter, Roberta Voelker of Oswego, Illinois; and stepson, Tom Spurr of Dollar Bay. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grand children, great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family and the many friends she has made throughout her life will miss her.
The family was helped by Wyman Cremation and Burial Chapel of Mesa.
At Gails request, there will be no services.
