Yvonne Mae Kauppila

Yvonne Mae Kauppila, 89, passed away into the arms of Jesus on September 17, 2025. Born July 28, 1936 in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Mother, grandmother, Gigi, Relli and friend.

Mom passed away after a brief illness at Omega House in Houghton, Michigan. Their care, empathy, and compassion was a true blessing and gift to us. In moms life, she wore many hats and filled her days with numerous hobbies: gardening, oil painting, guitar strumming and quilting. She found quilting later in life and enjoyed making quilts for her children, grandkids and great grands. Also, quilted gifts for her many dear friends. Mom loved her Bethany Lutheran Church family. Mom’s faith carried her through the end of a life well lived. We will miss you.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 17, 2025 at 2:00pm at Bethany Lutheran Church in Mohawk, Michigan.
