Marilyn Jukuri

April 1, 1932 - Oct. 22, 2025

HOUGHTON — Marilyn E. (Kettenbeil) Jukuri, 93, a resident of the Bluff’s Senior Living Community in Houghton, and a former Keweenaw Bay resident, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, at the Gardenview Assisted Living in Calumet, where she had been a resident patient since this past November.

She was born on April 1, 1932, in Lake Linden, a daughter of the late Henry “Heinie” and Margaret (Birk) Kettenbeil. Marilyn was raised in Lake Linden and was a graduate of the Lake Linden High School.

On June 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Gordon E. Jukuri. The couple had resided in Chassell as they raised their family. The couple also resided in Keweenaw Bay and Hancock. On Oct. 12, 2016, Gordon preceded Marilyn in death. Since that time Marilyn has resided at the Bluff Senior Living Community before becoming a resident patient at Garden View Assisted Living in Calumet.

Mrs. Jukuri had attended Zion Lutheran Church in Hancock and Mission United Lutheran Church in Pelkie.

She had owned and operated a cottage rental business with her husband, along with Gordon’s Flowers Shop. She enjoyed being active with the Houghton County Fair and the Houghton County Historical Society.

Marilyn also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, living on the water while she resided in Keweenaw Bay, and loved to bake, can fruits and vegetables, work on sewing projects, and in her garden.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Gordon; her son-in-law, John Kohut; and her parents.

Surviving are her children, Donna Kohut, Paul (Beth) Jukuri, and Mark Jukuri; her grandchildren, Georgeann (Karl) Larson, Abigail (Rob) Larson, Hannah (Wil) Kling, and Eli (Jennifer) Jukuri; her great-grandchildren, Sylvi Larson, Arnie Larson, Valli Kling and Max Kling; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service for Marilyn will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service – Hancock Chapel with Pastor Jay Weidner to officate. Burial will be in the Chassell Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at the Memorial Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service – Hancock Chapel.
