Stan Roberts

March 24, 1939 - Nov. 8, 2025

HOUGHTON — Stan Roberts, 86, a resident of Houghton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Intersect Health and Rehabilitation in Hancock.

Stan was born on March 24, 1939, in Chassell, to the late Loretta Perreault. He attended Hancock Schools. During his younger years, he taught himself to play guitar. He played in several bands, the first being the Silvertones.

Stan worked for the White Pine Mines and then the Copper Country Dairy until its closure. He bartended at the Monte Carlo Bar, Sayen’s Auto Sales as their Limousine Driver, and lastly worked for the Daily Mining Gazette as a Route Driver.

Preceding Stan in death are a sister, Carole Harris; and a brother, Doug Halgren.

Stan is survived by his significant other of 36 years, Anita Gerich; his daughters, Terry (Daryl) Lishinski of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Patty (Glen) Moscatello of Gladstone, and Suzanne (Ron) Hebner of Dollar Bay and Escanaba; his grandchildren, Alex Moscatello, Luc Lishinski and Paige Isaacson; honorary granddaughter, Tia Heikkinen; and his sister, Diane Hendrickson of Saint Charles, Michigan. Stan is further survived by his two best buddies, Jerry Joyal of Lake Linden and Tom Nikkinen of West Bend, Wisconsin.

A visitation for Stan will be from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at the Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hancock. Spring burial will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.

The family would like to thank Dr. LaBonte, Dr. Pettibone, Dr. Fletcher, Cari Stromer, the Portage Health Staff, Mercy Ambulance, Houghton Police, Melanie Scott of Heritage Manor and the Heritage Manor Family, and Intersect Health for their wonderful care, and Anita’s daughters Kitty and Carol Drew for cutting Stan’s hair though the years.
