Peter Fulayter

He was born in Chicago a son of Peter and Agnes (Kobe) Fulayter, and moved to Calumet at a young age. He was a graduate of Calumet High School Class of 1959.

Following high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served four years.

He married Alma Ross in 1965. The couple resided in City of Orange, California, where Peter was a heavy equipment operator (Local 12) in Southern California.

He was a dedicated softball coach and was an accomplished wood worker.

Peter and Alma moved to Houghton Canal in 2003. Peter enjoyed his retirement home in Stanton Township and socializing with childhood friends and classmates who affectionately remembered him as Ziggy.

He is survived by his wife, Alma; son, Tom of southern California; daughter, Phylis (Tom) Hoag of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; brother, Martin (Joanne) of Albany, Minnesota; sister, Leona Fulayter of Lake Havasu City; and brother, Thomas (Penny) of L’Anse; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Interment in Lake View Cemetery in 2026. Ryan Funeral Home is serving the family.
