LaVerne Grayce Witto
LAKE LINDEN — LaVerne Grayce Witto, 96, of Lake Linden, passed away at Intersect Healthcare of Hancock on January 17, 2026. She was born on July 29, 1929 in Detroit, a daughter of John and Marie Addison. She graduated from Western High School in Detroit. LaVerne worked for Socony Mobil Oil, Nate Knoppow Real Estate, Land Development Thompson-Brown, and as a manager of Mayfair Real Estate of Livonia. In 2002, she moved to the Copper Country and opened the Four Seasons Tea Room, retiring in 2012.
In 1954, LaVerne was married to Raymond Witto. He passed in 1984. She had been a member of VFW 2269 in Detroit. LaVerne was preceded in death by: her parents, husband, sister-Rosemarie (Clifford) Hines, and brother-John F. (Alice) Addison, III. She is survived by: her daughter-Andrea (Glenn) Schuldt of Lake Linden; 2 grandsons-Kevin and Christopher (Jaime); 2 great-grandchildren-Iris and Raymond; and nephew-Ronald Hines of Florida.
The memorial service will be planned for the summer. The Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden is in charge of arrangements.
