Robert G. ‘Vully’ Michaelson
PELKIE — Robert G. “Vully” Michaelson, age 83 of Pelkie, MI passed away Thursday, January 15, 2026 at Gardenview Assisted Living Facility, Calumet, MI with his loving family by his side. He was born in Askel, MI on March 29, 1942 the son of the late John and Siami (Lundy) Michaelson. Robert graduated from Doelle School, Tapiola, MI and then went to work in the copper mines. Robert attended Michigan Tech for engineering. He had joined the Army National Guard and served in the Detroit Riots. Robert had been employed as a design engineer for Giddings & Lewis in Fond Du Lac, WI. He married the former Virginia Ann Filpus in Calumet on August 28, 1965. He was a lifetime member of the Otter Lake Sportsmen’s Club. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting and especially playing baseball.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Virginia of Pelkie, daughter Connie Endries of Wisconsin, and son Brian Michaelson of Arnheim, grandchildren Troy Brown (Jodi), Christopher (Megan) Brown, Jeff (Karly) Brown, Joe (Kaitlyn) Kivi Brown, and Phoenix Michaelson, great grandchildren Beckett, Brynley, McKenna, Madison, Dex, and one on the way, brothers Bill (Sonia) Michaelson of Askel, Albert (Louise) Michaelson of California, George (Caroline) Michaelson of Texas, and Jimmy (Andrea) Michaelson of Wisconsin. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, great grandchild Kiera, sister Ann, and brothers Art and Don, and son-in-law Scott Endries.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date and announced at that time. Thank you to Gardenview for their compassion and hospitality shown to the family during a difficult time… truly a dream team.
