Elizabeth Adelle Wardlaw
The family of Elizabeth Adelle Wardlaw, age 52, is sad to announce her passing on February 5, 2026, at Good Shepherd Hospice, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Elizabeth was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on November 9, 1973, and attended school in Houghton, Michigan until she moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1982. Elizabeth loved all animals, especially horses. She competed in dressage and was a member of an equestrian drill team.
Elizabeth played the violin and attended performing arts high schools to further her love of music. When she moved to Fort Lauderdale as a Junior in high school, she played the violin in the Broward Symphony Orchestra, where she met her future husband, Stuart Wardlaw. Elizabeth and Stuart were married on October 16, 1993.
After attending Broward Community College, Elizabeth worked as a travel agent for Avis Corporate Travel until she became the Office Manager for her husband’s CРА firm. After semi-retirement, Elizabeth and Stuart moved to Sebring, Florida in 2023.
Elizabeth was an avid South Florida sports fan, with Panthers hockey being her very favorite. She also enjoyed playing cards and mah jongg with friends.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Stuart Wardlaw, mother, Sandra Haka of Sebring, brother, Jason Haka (Heather) of Suffolk, Virginia, and stepson, Stuart Wardlaw, Jr., of Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Haka, in 2018.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, 4001 Sebring Parkway, Sebring, FL 33870.
In lieu of flowers or other donations, the family has specified the North Port Symphony Orchestra, PO Box 759, North Port, FL 34290 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 as recipients.
