Robert Allen

CALUMET — Robert Allen of Calumet Michigan passed away on February 4th 2026 at Aspirus Keweenaw. He was born May 23rd 1955 to Berto and Lillian Allen in New Allouez Michigan. He graduated from Calumet High School in 1973 and attended Michigan Technological University where he pursued a degree in forestry.

Robert loved traveling so much; he and some friends moved out west to work and spent his days off fly fishing in the mountains. He moved back to the area when he was offered a position in the United States Postal Service which turned into his career.

Robert was an active bowler and after meeting the love of his life at Miller’s recreation, he married Bonnie (Blau) on August 10th 1985. Robert was an active sportsman and enjoyed spending as much time as he could hunting and fishing. He played baseball and football in his youth and always would make sure to root for the Detroit Tigers and the Green Bay Packers. His passion for nature, animals, and exploring the country will live on in his daughters, who are the things in his life he was the most proud of.

Robert is preceded in death by his father Berto, mother Lillian, and older brother Gene Allen. He is survived by his sister Norma (Gene) Theiler, his wife Bonnie, his daughters, Kathryn Allen (Steve Loukus) and Rebecca (Alston) Haralson, and his beloved pets Banjo, Shadow, Nala, Potato, Ellie and Rosie. He is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and in-laws.

The Allen family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses, first responders, EMS, doctors, and therapists who helped care for him. We would also like to thank the Blau family, Sharon Abramson and his friends for their support.

A visitation will be held at Erickson-Crowley-Peterson Funeral Home on Thursday February 12th at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at noon. A private burial will be held by the family in the spring. Donations can be made to Little Brother’s Friends of the Elderly or the National Kidney Foundation in his honor.
