CRYATAL FALLS — Arla Mae Mihalow, age 79, of Crystal Falls, Michigan, passed away on February 27, 2026. Born in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, on November 21, 1946, she lived a life full of spirit and adventure. From a young age, Arla was undeniably active and found her greatest joy in the outdoors. She had a passion for animals early on, enjoying horseback riding and showing Afghan Hounds. As she grew older and started her family, her adventurous nature took her north to Alaska. There, she fully embraced the lifestyle by camping, fishing, and tending to her own small farm.

When she wasn’t outside, Arla could usually be found with her hands busy, crafting or crocheting her latest project. Those who knew Arla best will remember her as a deeply caring person and a wonderful listener who was always there to offer support. However, she also possessed a delightful sassy streak that brought laughter and light to those around her.

Arla is survived by her children, Brian Joki, Jennifer Joki (Putt), Nick Mihalow, and Natasha Provo; and her beloved grandchildren, Scott Putt, Randy Putt, Mikayla Provo, William Provo IV, Thor Joki, and Sabrina Joki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Margret Longpre, her sister, Della Mae Watkins, and her brother, Robert (Bucko) Keranan.

A woman of Christian faith, Arla rests now in the comfort of God’s grace. She was truly the glue to her family and will be missed by all who knew her along the way.
