Sharon Stefanich
Sharon Marie (Moilanen) Stefanich of New Allouez passed away suddenly on March 28, 2026 at UP Health System Portage. Sharon was born on January 31, 1949 in Laurium, MI to Emil (Amy) and Doris Moilanen. Sharon attended local schools and graduated with the Calumet High School class of 1967. In 2001, she joined her hand in marriage with Mike Stefanich.
Sharon was employed as an office assistant for most of her career at various businesses such as Public Chevrolet, Kauppi Oil and retiring from UP Health System Portage. She also touched many lives as a CNA, working over the years for Keweenaw Memorial Medical Center and Keweenaw Home Nursing.
Sharon had many friends and enjoyed the simple things in life, including spending time with her
grandchildren, watching their sporting events, and entertaining friends and family while spending summers in Lac La Belle. She loved to cruise Lac LaBelle and Bete Grise on the pontoon, make pasties and bake. Sharon was a humble woman, and her warm smile and laughter were always welcoming.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, sister Penny Moilanen and daughter Kelly (Cima) Aho.
Sharon leaves behind her husband Mike and fur buddy Copper, children John (Holly) Cima, Sarah (Mark) Niemela, grandchildren Braydon and Hunter Cima, Kailin and Miles Aho and Drake and Jade Niemela.
Please join us to remember Sharon on April 2, 2026 from 4-7pm at Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held this summer in Lac La Belle.
