Kevin Kuopus

BOSTON LOCATION — Kevin Kuopus, age 67, of Boston Location, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly in March 2026. He was born on March 21, 1959, in Hancock, Michigan, to Paul Kuopus and Marion Pelto, the fourth of their sons.

Kevin was a man who truly lived in the moment. He spent most of his life in Boston Location, where he found joy in the simple things–especially time spent with his family and brothers. In his younger years, Kevin was known as a gifted guitar player, and throughout his life he built a reputation as an excellent mechanic, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.

Kevin walked through life facing more than most, yet he never stopped pushing forward. He endured life’s hardships with a quiet strength that not everyone possesses. Despite the challenges he carried, he continued to show up with love, laughter, and a generosity that left a lasting impact on those around him. He loved unconditionally, and that love will remain with his family forever.

There is comfort in knowing that Kevin’s suffering has ended and that he is finally at peace. It brings peace to those who loved him to believe he has been reunited with his parents, his brother David, along with cousins and dear friends who have gone before him–surrounded once again by those he loved and missed.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marion Kuopus, and his brother, David Kuopus.

He is survived by his brothers, Paul Kuopus of Boston Location and Kurt Kuopus of California; his son, Travis Kuopus; and his daughters, Danielle, Jamie, Jessica, and Chelsey Kuopus, all of Calumet, and Grandchildren Jonah Panning, Dominic & Vivian Heikell, Evan Beaudoin, Madison, Hailey, Selena, and Jackson Hoganson, Nevaeh Kuopus, Braxton and Ashton Kinsinger and Great Grandchildren Hazel and Coletyn, along with extended family and friends who will continue to carry his memory forward.

Kevin will always be deeply missed and never forgotten.

A celebration of life is to be scheduled.
