Judith Mary Liimatta-Taylor
CALGARY, ALBERTA –We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear mother, Judith Mary on April 26th, 2026 at her residence in Calgary Alberta, Canada, surrounded by family.
Judy will be profoundly missed by her four beloved children Christine Taylor (Anthony), Karen Taylor (Melvin), Gerard Taylor (Kaley), and Catherine Taylor (Bruce) and by several grandchildren Landon (Diane), Tarron (Patrick), Meghan (Derrick), Mathew (Emma), Vanessa (Marco), Hillary Judith (Jordan) and Gage. She also leaves behind five great grandchildren Caden, Kayla, Ava, Olivia, and Maisie.
Judy was predeceased by her grandson Gage Robert Taylor, parents Russell and Evelyn Liimatta. Her brothers Clifford, Wallace, Clyde and sisters Barbara Brusorio, Patricia Liimatta, and Marie Burns.
Judith attended Hancock public schools graduating from Hancock Central High School in 1952. She continued her education at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1955. She enjoyed a rewarding nursing career, the highlight of which was eight years of employment at the Intensive Care Unit of The Veteran’s Administration Medical Center, in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Judy spoke frequently and fondly about the physicians and colleagues there.
Judy moved to Calgary Alberta Canada in 1981 and continued with her nursing career at the Holy Cross Hospital for an additional fifteen years. She came to love the nearby mountains as much as she loved the Copper Country.
Our mother affected the lives of all she encountered in a positive way, and will be sorely missed.
