Michel Greenhoe

MARQUETTE — Michel Lynn Greenhoe, 50, of Marquette, died Thursday morning, June 4, 2026, at UP Health System-Marquette,

She was born May 9, 1976, in Alma, Michigan, a daughter of Max and Judy (Hosmer) Cumberworth. She was raised in Middleton, Michigan, and was a 1994 graduate of Fulton High School. She also attended Michigan State University.

Michel married Robert Greenhoe in Tekonsha, Michigan, in 1999 and the couple were married for 27 years.

She began her career in retail sales at Corning Revere in Dewitt, Michigan, and Freemont, Indiana. While living in Marshall, Michigan, she worked at Bed Bath and Beyond. She relocated to Houghton in 2003 and went to work at Dunham’s Sporting Goods. She later transferred to their Marquette store and was with the company for 22 years.

Michel enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, her lilac bushes and bird watching.

Michel is survived by her husband, Robert Greenhoe of Marquette; daughter, Lynn Greenhoe of Marquette; parents, Max and Judy Cumberworth of Middleton; siblings, Amy (Dale) Simon of Fowler, Michigan, Lori Cumberworth of Ithaca, Michigan, and Tonya (Jim) Higgins of Alma; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, and aunt, Shirley.

A Celebration of Michel’s life will be held on July 25, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fulton Township Hall, Perrinton, Michigan, and on July 19, 2026, from 5-9 p.m. at the Presque Isle, Marquette.
