ATLANTIC MINE -- Jane Marie Manderfield, 61, of Atlantic Mine, passed away Tuesday, July 28th, 2026 after a long battle with mental illness.
She was born in Hancock, on November 27th, 1964 to "Jack" and Dorothy Manderfield. She was a proud graduate of Hancock Central High School. She worked for many years as a teller at D&N and then Republic Bank. She then transitioned to work in the healthcare field, working as the "face of HR" for Portage Health, then moving to Aspirus Keweenaw, and most recently working for Copper Country Mental Health as an ACT Secretary and Benefits Specialist. Jane was loved by many coworkers and patients. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, in Hancock.
Jane loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and share stories and pictures of them with everyone she met. She especially loved to craft with them. She enjoyed making cards, spending time with family and friends, and baking for anyone she found an opportunity to share her baked goods with. She loved her "baby girl," Kali. Jane loved music and dancing. You'd be sure to get her on the dance floor with a little Bob Seger. She liked that old time rock & roll!
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, John ("Jack") and Dorothy Manderfield, her dear brother, Stephen Manderfield, her Aunt, Virginia (Virge) Sullivan, her cousin, Dan Sullivan, and a special cousin, Clare Marie Penegor.
She is survived by her four children: Elizabeth Fraki, Rebekah (Tony Fraire) Wernicke, Joshua Fraki, and Hannah (Benjamin) Jaehnig; seven grandchildren: Sam and Sophi Miller, Will and Hailey Wernicke, Alex and Bella Fraire, and Leon Jaehnig; five siblings: John Manderfield, Sarah Beth (Dan) Foco, Mark (Catherine) Manderfield, Mary Kay (Mark) Qualseth, and Anne (Bill Junttila) Brunet; many nieces and nephews whom she adored; many special cousins; and dear friends: Michele and Mike Mannisto, Chris Erickson, Anne Weidenborner, Karen Dugdale, and many more. Jane was loved dearly by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 1st, at the Church of the Resurrection in Hancock, MI with Father Corey Litzner to celebrate. There will be a vigil prayer service at the church at 7:30 PM on Friday, July 31st. All are welcome.
Friends may call at the church from 10:00-10:45 AM on Saturday morning.
