Richard Krupp

TOIVOLA -- Richard Krupp of Toivola, Michigan, formerly of Edwardsburg, Michigan and Granger, Indiana, passed away, in the comfort of his family's presence on August 3, 2026 after being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare form of blood cancer.

Richard was born May 14, 1938, in Granger, Indiana, to Merle and Edna (Vollstedt) Krupp, who have both preceded him in death.

He will be greatly missed by his three children, Dennis (Tracy Wall) Krupp, Gerrie (Tyler Brown) Krupp, and Sally ( Lori Crice) Krupp; three brothers, Ledger (Christy) Krupp, Norman (Judy) Krupp, Junior Krupp and one sister, Gloria Cart; his five grandchildren, Ryan Myers, Kara Haines, Joshua Krupp, Eric Haines, and Lindsey Haines; and five great grandchildren, Andie, Katie, Harlow, Stevie, and Asher; the Mother of his children, Sharron Botts; his huge extended family and the many friends he has made over the years.

Richard owned and operated Krupp's Standard in Edwardsburg, then in 1994, after 29 years at Selmer, he retired to purchase and run what became Krupp's Resort in the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan for 24 years. It was then sold and he retired for the second time. Always active in every community in which he lived, he worked for the sheriff's department, volunteer fire departments and township government, Richard dedicated most of his life to promoting snowmobiling. From helping to pioneer the Edwardsburg snowmobile trails with his brothers to working on legislation and the promotion of snowmobiling through the Michigan Snowmobile Association, where he served as Vice President and President, to serving on the Southwest Michigan Snowmobile Council. He was instrumental in creating a trail system through the Superior Snowmobile Club in Twin Lakes. One of his biggest passions in the U.P. was his dedication to the expansion of Trail 13. Richard's heart will always be in the Upper Peninsula.

On Saturday August 8, 2026 from 2 -5 pm there will be a memorial service and celebration of life at the Edwardsburg Snowmobile Clubhouse 26839 Redfield Road in Edwardsburg. Another service and life celebration will be held in his hometown of Twin Lakes Michigan at the Twin Lakes Fire Department August 22, 2026 from 2-5 pm.
