TOIVOLA -- Lionel Francis Beaudoin, 80, of Toivola, passed away after a short illness on September 28, 2026, with his family by his side at the Pinecrest Medical Center in Powers.
Lionel was born on November 29, 1945 in Lake Linden, a son of Reuben and Irene (Baillargeon) Beaudoin. He graduated from Lake Linden-Hubbell High School in 1963.
Lionel served in the U.S. Army, in the 18th Engineer Brigade, in Vietnam.
Lionel worked as a diesel mechanic in Sheboygan, WI for many years. Later, he logged many miles as an over-the-road truck driver for 16 years. Later, he returned to Michigan where he worked as a logger, until he retired in 2009.
He was married to Dorothy Jacque on July 12, 1986. She passed on December 15, 2024.
Lionel attended the Painesdale Methodist Church and he had been a VFW member. He loved trains. He had a collection of tractors, toys and real ones!
He was preceded in death by: parents, brother-Leroy, sister-Barbara Adams, his wife, brother-in-law-Dave Hongisto and sister-in-law-Pearl.
Lionel is survived by: daughters-Lori Perl of Sheboygan, Jerri (Clayton) Zilisch of Neenah, and Angela Terrien (Travis Meyer) of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren-Crystal Mills, Jason Beaudoin (Morgan), Anthony (Sabryna) Beaudoin, Jasmine (Stacy) Beaudoin, Justin Zilisch, Bradly Zilisch, Laqueisha O'Malley (Terry), Anna Terrien (Calvin), Emma Terrien (Mason); numerous greatgrandchildren; brothers-Donald, Lawrence (Gail) Raymond (Linda), and Michael; sister-Janet Hongisto; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden with Pastor Rob Yerks to officiate and the Copper Country Veterans to conduct Military Rites. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, before the funeral. Online condolences may be shared at pearcefuneralhome.com
