CALUMET — Carol Louise Kangas of Calumet, passed away on Jan. 8, 2025 at Canal View in Hancock. Carol was born on March 30, 1938, at home in Calumet to Rudolph and Gertrude Strom. Carol worked as a nurse’s aid and in the laundry room at Canal View. Carol loved to play piano and video games. Carol is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Gertrude, her first husband Daniel Thames, second husband Dennis Kangas, and her baby brother Billy. She was the daughter of Frank & Elizabeth (Tiura) Aho. She spent early days in Trout Creek, Greenland & Trimountain. Shirley graduated from Jeffers Highschool. CALUMET — Michael “Ski” Pavloski, age 63, a resident of Calumet, passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2024 at the Omega House located in Houghton, Michigan. Michael was born in Bitburg, Germany on Nov. 9, 1961 to parents Michael and Darlene (Robus) Pavloski. He attended Calumet High School and graduated with the class of 1980.
