HANCOCK - John Paul Goraczniak, 62, of Hancock, passed away at his residence on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025. He was born on Oct. 20, 1963 to the late Paul and Joyce Goraczniak in Laurium. He attended Calumet Schools and later was employed by as a baker for Thurner's Bakery in Calumet and then for Connie's Kitchen, also in Calumet. He had a hobby of collecting comic books, other informational books, and music compact discs. For those who knew him they considered him to be a kind and caring person. Linda Kay (Messick) Leinonen, of Lake Linden, passed away on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, at Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium. Linda was born on July 15, 1953, in Elkhart, Indiana, to parents Gene and Melba (North) Messick.     Linda graduated from Jimtown High School in Elkhart. She went on to graduate from Indiana State University and Southwestern Michigan College. She did her graduate work at Valparaiso University.
