Apology from The Daily Mining Gazette
Dear Readers:
On this page in our April 29 edition we published a letter to the editor entitled “A Layman’s Appraisal.”
This letter should never have been published. It was offensive to many of you and for that we sincerely apologize.
This letter was far below our standards of decency and violated our rules against publishing profanity.
The publication was the result of a breakdown of our editing process.
The Daily Mining Gazette has taken steps to address appropriate sanctions and has reaffirmed our standards to guard against this type of procedural breakdown happening again.
