Music on Third about to kick off new season in Marquette

The good times are about ready to roll on North Third Street in the city of Marquette.

That’s because Music On Third is about to kick off another summer of music along the popular roadway.

An eclectic mix of local musicians will play along the sidewalks of Third Street in downtown Marquette from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday for the first installment of Music on Third this summer.

Interested? The complete line-up will be available the week of each event on the Marquette Marquette Downtown Development Authority website at downtownmarquette.org/downtown-events/music-on-third.

Taking place on the third Thursday of the summer months, the remaining Music on Third events will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. July 21, Aug. 18 and Sept. 15.

Music on Third brings the community out onto the summer sidewalks of downtown Marquette to enjoy local music and visit the more than 100 unique shops and restaurants that line Third Street.

However, the Marquette Downtown Development Authority reminds the public that it is against state of Michigan law to openly consume alcohol in the public right-of-way, which includes the sidewalks of North Third Street.

The sheer quality and quantity of musicians that perform during these events is outstanding.

Listening is free and everyone is invited.
