To the editor:

I’m voting for Jack Bergman for the District 1 race for Congress. The media distortion and his opponents’ attacks and lies (about Jack and himself) are appalling. After meeting Jack and hearing his agenda, I’m convinced we need him in Washington to represent us. Space does not allow to have both issues totally addressed, but here are a few things to consider:

Lon Johnson has an ad that puts Jack’s face over a Chinese flag that attacks Jack’s military service and the patriotism of our veterans. Johnson has never served in the military and apparently does not respect the over 40 years of service Jack gave to our country earning the rank of three-star Marine General who served in combat. Jack would be a voice of military experience in Congress where there are few left.

Johnson (and some media) are falsely stating Jack isn’t from his district while Johnson’s records clearly show he has just recently returned to his families hunting shack in order to run for political offices.

Johnson loves Obama being the White House Easter Bunny one year with his wife’s connections as one of the president’s senior political operatives. He appears to want to distance his record of his unsuccessful 2012 Michigan House of Representative bid and as chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party from 2013 to 2015 (losing almost all their races during his time there.)

Johnson is trying to buy his way into governing over you rather than earning your respect, bringing in $455,000 mainly from out-of-state donations through his wife’s connections, thus funding his massive lies.

Johnson is unapologetic pro-choice with Planned Parenthood endorsement. Jack is pro-life with an endorsement from Right to Life. Having a congressman that will value all lives is the most important consideration to me.

Lon is proving to be a political operative,who continually resorts to dirty campaign tactics. Jack is an honest, positive man that has explained what he will do and his views instead of attacking his opponent.

Jack will fight for fiscal responsibility, fair taxes, and reduce regulations. Support our veterans and support our Constitution. He is quite knowledgeable, articulate and honest. He cares about our country and wants to be our congressmen to serve.

Let’s not miss this opportunity to have a non-career politician who will be accountable to us and not special interest groups. Vote Jack Bergman!
