Golf fundraiser goes well

To the editor:

On behalf of the Kermit’s Keweenaw Kids Youth Program we would like to sincerely thank each and every one of the golfers and supporters who contributed to the Golf Scramble Fundraiser that took place at the Sandy Pebbles Golf Course, Ahmeek on September 14. All proceeds will be used to help fund our youth programs.

Our deepest appreciation to Bruce (Cukie) Coppo for the effort that he put forth in raising donations as well as running the tournament. His continued support of the Kermit’s Keweenaw Kids Youth Program has contributed significantly to the ability to provide significant and on-going activities. We are deeply grateful for his support. In addition, a special thanks to Rick Isaacson and the Sandy Pebbles Golf Course for hosting the tournament (and donating the green fees to Kermit’s Kids as well.) The tournament was hosted in past years by the late Neil Isaacson, who is missed, and will always be remembered as one of our big-hearted supporters. Thanks also to Joe Takacs and the staff at Sandy Pebbles for their help throughout the summer with youth golfing, and to our new Probate Judge Keith DeForge and his wife Nancy for their help at the tournament. Thank you also to our Kermit’s Kids bus driver, Dennis

Engman, for manning the grill at the tournament, (and for being an all-around there-when-you-need- him guy.)

And last, but not least, a heartfelt thanks to our community of contributors and every single one of the golfers who came out to support Kermit’s Kids! The weather forecast was questionable, yet it turned out to be a beautiful day on the golf course!
