The Life Outreach Center of Houghton and Baraga Counties held their 11th Annual fundraising banquet on October 21, 2019, at Resurrection Parish in Hancock. The banquet was huge success, and the Life Outreach Center is very thankful to all who attended. We are deeply appreciative to Dave and Shelly Lucchesi and their helpers, for the hours of preparation and for making such a delicious, home-made Italian dinner.

Several local Knights of Columbus Councils of District 63 participated in making it a huge success, by helping with preparation of the meal, set up, and clean- up of the banquet area. The Councils, including Sacred Heart and St. Ann Council #2934 of Baraga, Resurrection Parish Council #692, Keweenaw Catholic Community Council #1245 of Calumet, St. Ignatius Loyola Council #13224 of Houghton, Torch Lake Council 2713 Knights of Columbus of Lake Linden, St. Anne’s of Chassell-Council #13224 and 4th Degree Assembly #0472, were an integral part in making it one of the best our center has ever had. In addition, our thanks to Kathy Ptaszek-Guest Speaker, to Resurrection Parish for providing the banquet hall, Shelby Turnquist who provided the beautiful cakes, Mr. Bruce Mattson for his donation of books to our centers libraries, At Home Companions, Inc, St. Francis of Assisi of Dollar Bay, Torch Lake Council #2713, St. Ignatius Loyola Council #13224 – all assisting with underwriting costs involved in the banquet. And a special thanks to the new St. Albert the Great Knights Council #17237 of MTU/ Houghton, for serving the meal. We hope we haven’t overlooked anyone, and our apologies if that has happened. Thank you all for the terrific evening and fellowship and helping the Life Outreach Center work towards its goal of an Ultra-sound machine.
