To the editor:

I would like to thank everyone who made my mama’s birthday so special, especially the Hubbell Volunteer Fire Department who drove by her house with four trucks and blasted their horns for her. Her friends made a small parade of at least 20 vehicles. She received balloons and presents from her wonderful neighbors. We had placed an order at Jim’s in Calumet for pizza and wings because they’re her favorite. She even got her favorite cake, Pepperidge Farms’ coconut. I wish I could have made the trip from Florida, but thank you to everybody who gave my momma the best 90th birthday she could have.
