Vote against Kelly

To the editor:

The Democrat County Clerk, Jennifer Kelly, has had a very questionable tenure in office, to say the least. The Gazette reported In March that she faced censure by the County Board for allegedly harassing her employees by publishing restricted documents and biased allegations about them. A quote from the union president reads, “The AFSCME Local 226.02 is prepared to take any steps necessary if the harassment in the county clerk’s office does not stop” (DMG). Spreading such information and allegations, especially about your very own employees, is completely inappropriate for an elected official to do. To date, I have seen no public or specific answer from her on this.

The clerk also delayed the sending of absentee ballots and offered no public explanation as to why. The sending of these ballots is regulated by state election law. Again, no answers.

We can’t afford another four years of a non-transparent Democrat County Clerk who has evidence of harassing employees against her.

I encourage you to vote for Justin Kasieta this fall.
