To the editor:

I am writing to you about stolen property in the Calumet area. It was on private property that my husband’s tree stand had been stolen. He went there for so many years that the tree stand had grown into the tree.

He has severe back problems and relied on the tree stand because he can’t walk much anymore. He is also in his 70s. Some years his back was so bad he couldn’t hunt at all. He would only go two or three days out of the season because of the pain. He has shot a few deer while hunting from the stand.

He came home and said “I guess I won’t be hunting anymore. Someone stole my tree stand.” He was all set to go this year for at least a couple of days.

To be so unsportsmanlike-like to steal someone’s tree stand is beyond words.
