Fact vs. Fiction

To the editor:

Popular vote count: Biden/Harris 81,283,098, Trump/Pence 74,222,958. Electoral College vote count: Biden/Harris 306, Trump/Pence 232. Trump and his enablers in Congress and the real “Fake News” presenters claim wide spread voter fraud. 86 lawsuits were filed by or on behalf of the Trump Campaign. None were successful including two before the SCOTUS. Trump appointed Attorney General Barr said the Justice Department has uncovered no evidence of widespread voter fraud that could change the outcome of the 2020 election. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency said in a statement on Nov. 12, 2020: “There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised…The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history…”

With the above proven publicly available information why did 139 House members including Jack Bergman and eight Senators vote to reject the certified election results from Arizona and Pennsylvania? I am very sure all are literate and are able to read, write and understand American English and have professional staff that can competently research information.

With all of the information stated above Bergman said “I made it very clear this week that I intended to stand for my belief that irregularities, discrepancies, and usurpation of state election laws demanded an investigation into the 2020 election”.

In a democratic republic it is the job of our elected representatives with the help of their staff to make informed decisions on many important issues and if needed defend their conclusions. Bergman stated that many of his constituents still believe that the election was “Stolen” which convinces me that he is not sufficiently competent to represent Michigan’s 1st congressional district and is directly responsible for the worst attack against America in history, a nearly successful coup d’etat lead by ex-president Trump.
