Naming conventions

To the editor:

Lenin (1870-1924) said, “the capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them.” Now capitalists buy the rope from their Chinese Communist “friends” and sell it to us. Will we hang ourselves?

Lenin called liberals “useful idiots” but so are those capitalists who worship money instead of God and don’t care that they are helping America’s enemies destroy the country.

Most of the mainstream news media act as propagandists for left-wing politicians. They distort and suppress the truth.

Last year President Donald Trump labeled COVID-19 as the “China Virus.” That was denounced as zero-phobic (anti-foreign) and is now blamed for inspiring attacks against Asian Americans.

The Epoch Times in my favorite newspaper and it refers to COVID-19 as the CCP virus. CCP stands for the Chinese Communist Party. That newspaper considers considers China’s Communist regime to be a fascist oligarchy. It is.

The Epoch Times is anti-communist, not anti-Asian or anti-Chinese. The Epoch Times started in New York City 21 years ago as an online edition in Mandarin. The English print edition began in 2004 and there are now many other editions worldwide in 21 different languages.

The Chinese-American who started who started the Epoch Times is CEO John Tang. Tang said “We are prepared to debunk every lie with evidence.”

If President Trump was a bigot to call COVID-19 the “Chinese Virus,” what about those who referred to Hong Kong Flu and Asian Flu decades ago?

Is it anti-German bigotry to call rubella German Measles? Is it anti-Hispanic to refer to the Spanish Flu of 1918-19, which did not even originate in Spain or Latin America? What about the Bubonic Plague being called the Black Death?
