To the editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who helped find Judy when she was lost in the woods. Houghton County Sheriffs Department, Superior Search and Rescue, Houghton County Office of Emergency measures, Baraga County Search and Rescue, Calumet Post, Michigan State Police, their K-9 units and the search helicopter from Lansing, Keweenaw County Sheriffs Office K-9 team, Hancock, Houghton, and Michigan Tech Police, Quincy, Boston, and Dollar Bay Fire Departments who sent volunteers for the search and to pump out a nearby pond, and all of the many volunteers who joined in the search, and offered to help in other ways. Thanks also, to Walmart, At Home Companions Inc., the Salvation Army, and friends and neighbors who helped to feed the volunteers. A special thanks tour friend and neighbor, John Burcar and his dog Cody who found Judy, landed her his boots, and walked her to safety. Only in the Copper Country, could you find such an outpouring of support! Many thanks to all.
