The 2021 Canal Run was a great success thanks to the support of many within our community! Over 100 volunteers helped to ensure nearly 700 participants had an excellent race experience.

Our primary sponsors UP Health System – Portage, Finlandia University, Keweenaw Co-op Market and Deli, Portage Health Foundation, Superior National Bank, TV6, Northern Specialty Health and Keweenaw Convention & Visitors Bureau were vital in moving this event forward. A huge thank you to the Canal Run committee who worked tirelessly over this past year to make sure the event was safe and enjoyable for everyone involved – Michael Babcock, Mary Myers, Jim Tervo, Alyson DeLandsheer, Chris VanArsdale, Darian Reed, Todd Gast, Kendra Coppo, Craig Hughes, Jason Sullivan, Susan Rosemurgy and April Stevens. Appreciation also goes out to Ryan Towels, Dirk Hembroff, Superior Search and Rescue and Jeremy Lundy for their work behind the scenes. We aren’t able to give recognition to everyone that contributed to the Canal Run, but please know the Canal Run greatly appreciates the support given to this community event. Thank you!
