Bergman disingenuous

To the editor:

In reading the article from Friday Aug. 20, Page 3 in the DMG, our U.S. Congressman Jack Bergman tried to explain away his involvement in overturning the results of the 2020 Presidential race. In Bergman’s unbelievably rich statement, full of irony, he states, “We need to make it easy to vote and impossible to cheat.”

Congressman Bergman, along with three other Michigan U.S. Congressmen worked their tails off to spread unsubstantiated lies about voter fraud and to decertify results of the election in numerous states in which former President Trump lost, including our own state of Michigan, thereby making his statement “easy to vote and impossible to cheat” breathtakingly disingenuous. It should be painfully clear, in hindsight, that Congressman Bergman’s attempt to decertify election results in what have been found to be fair election results, free of any widespread fraud, was an attempt to “cheat.”
