To the editor:

Sometimes controversial, David Keranen, submits articles here that many people just don’t understand. He is a qualified public educator.

Like myself, he uses analogy, comparison, and slight exaggeration. The intent is to make the reader at least consider different views on a topic rather than be stuck in one mode or opinion.

Another regular writer here almost always must air her grievances with regards to the sins of man and God’s punishment of them. What is her sin? According to Jesus Christ, man must not cast judgment on one another; this falls upon the Father.

Our country is blessed with bright minds in science and medicine. We also have been blessed with material resources to solve problems. To not use them is slovenly and shameful.

This is all by God’s wise design. It is a charge of man that we do all we can to alleviate illnesses, protect natural resources, defend the citizenry, and do all other activities to promote the health, safety, and welfare of the people. Anti-vaxers, anti-maskers, climate deniers, etc. are not helping anything.

Men are expected to be good stewards of the Earth and its inhabitants. The writer indicates that coastal flooding is God’s punishment for sin. Do any Christians live on the coast? Where will these displaced sinners flee to after they are flooded out? The Copper Country has fairly high ground. As an aside; please get vaccinated against COVID-19 and its several variants. It is the surest way out of this health pandemic.

Starting at $4.00/week.
