People act on feelings

To the editor:

In response to the letter titled “Making better choices:” Human beings almost always have to justify their bad choices; it’s easier to blame someone else or something else than to face the truth.

What the author said about some of the chemicals we put in our bodies today may be true and should be studied by doctors to avoid any mental and physical problems in children and adults later in life.

The letter made me believe the author, for some reason, was trying to “justify” why some children want to be a different sex than they are. The author said: “you can ‘repent’ all you want but if your brain chemistry has been altered it won’t matter.”

Too many times people act on feelings instead of common sense. If a child “feels” the desire to change their sex and parents agree to help them do so, that’s foolishness. Take your God-given authority over your child and tell them: “that’s not going to happen; we love you just the way you are.” Instead of parents teaching a child to yell by yelling at them; they should be teaching them about life and tough love; but that takes time. The Bible says: “train up a child in the way they should go and when they are older they will not depart from it;” don’t wait until they become teenagers to start training them.

There is hope because there are thousands of people of all ages and gender that had their brains altered and became slaves to chemicals like legal and illegal drugs and alcohol, but they “repented and were born again.” They turned their life around and now are the way God intended them to be.

Many believe “repent” is a bad word but it’s not. Jesus said: “Repent and believe the gospel.” We all were given a free will and inherited a sin nature. That has to change We have to be spiritually born again. Accept and confess with your mouth Jesus Christ as your Savior and make Him Lord of your life. Then study the Bible to renew your mind from a self-centered will to a God-centered will, then, you will “know” the truth and the truth will make you free.

God can repair a chemically-altered brain or change a self-centered sinner’s heart if we let Him.
