The significance of the cross
To the editor:
At Easter time, especially, we are reminded of the significance of the cross. The cross that is the bridge to eternity with Christ in Heaven. Without this bridge, mankind falls into the bottomless pit of hate. It is the most important subject to ponder.
Life is very short and the decision one makes now determines our eternal destiny. Satan is very busy distracting each person to not think about it, or to believe that the issue is stupid, narrow-minded or just unimportant.
Christ in love reminds us in His Word of the ultimate importance of what He accomplished on the cross — bearing our sins so that any that turns to Him in repentance and sincerely desiring to follow Him will be the saved, forgiven, granted peace, hope, promise in Heaven.
The cross is that bridge to Heaven. There is no other way. The opportunity to be saved is now — tomorrow may be too late.
