Faith Perspective: Is racism about skin color?

Racism is so stupid that its claims of an unchangeable reality of unbridgeable chasms can be shattered in a few words.

In 1776, Thomas Jefferson wrote: “We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal, and they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

In 1963, Martin Luther King also brilliantly said: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

Essentially, the Republic architects signed a promissory note when they wrote those magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. America had defaulted and had given the Negro people a bad check which has come back marked ‘insufficient funds.’ But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt … so we have come to cash this check.

Thus, King made a direct connection between America’s founding documents, and the civil rights campaign for which he was the leading spokesman. King could not have drawn the connection any more clearly. This was also observed by his followers and America’s people. It was time to make good on the Declaration’s promise. In succeeding years, most racist practices were discontinued.

In an interview with comedian Marc Maron (June 2015), Barack Obama said “racism is in our DNA,” and this too reveals racism. By keeping Black people in a permanent state of anger and white people in a permanent state of guilt, works to the benefit of the Democratic party and its wealthy donors.

It’s time to get real about “anti-racism,” climate change, and “fighting misinformation” which are, above all, CCC programs for the children of the upper class. At least, the CCC planted real trees and built real buildings. The DEI-climate change-misinformation complex mostly builds Bahaman bank accounts and university endowments. Is racism about skin color? DNA? Race? Acts 17:26 says, “And hath made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth….” The concept of “race” has no basis in Scripture; all men are descended from Adam, through Noah, and thus all are members of only one race — the human race.
