Faith perspective: Follow the Lord’s guidance on Election Day
As an independent voter and a Christian, it is hard to know who to vote for in the upcoming presidential election. Both of the candidates were chosen by God as the Bible says but both parties now have ideas that are ungodly and make it hard to vote for anyone.
Civilly, the Democratic Party is for the middle- and challenged-class of people, but morally, they fall short of what the Bible teaches. They want to please all people, not just a certain group, like religious or secular groups of people.
The Republican Party is for the wealthy and today has lost its moral compass with Donald Trump as its leader. What a shame to the party of Reagan and the country.
“What would Jesus do?” Would he leave the presidential space blank or vote for a happy-go-lucky Baptist Christian lady with 32 years of public service that called her pastor as soon as she was selected as candidate for spiritual advice? Or would he vote for another four years of a self-serving, crabby old man with questionable morality. Trump only has four years of public service that he used mainly to enrich himself and his wealthy supporters.
Jan. 6 would have never happened if Trump was never elected president in the first place. Think about it, nine people died that day and many other lives destroyed because of Trump.
I don’t know who Jesus would vote for, but I know I will leave the space blank before I would vote for Donald J. Trump. I will call on my Lord to lead and guide me on how to vote and ask my brothers and sisters in Christ to do the same.
Note: All of my opinions about Trump are from the words that came out of his mouth. If Trump says something, take him at his word, for what comes out of his mouth comes from his heart. He said this would be the last time we have to vote if he is elected, he said he will fix it.
But how?
