Clarity from Canada
Editor:
Very often, people in this country do not see clearly that which is so obvious to non-Americans. The following offers two quotes from a famous modern author from Canada. The author eloquently and succinctly states the obvious:
“The unthinkable is made real not through rational thought, but feelings. We’ll follow a charismatic leader if they tell us that we have a legitimate grievance. That they will give us back our dignity. Our threatened way of life. If we follow them, our enemies will be vanquished and we will be heroes (patriots). Who doesn’t want to be part of something bigger than ourselves? Who doesn’t want to be a patriot? Even if it is all fabricated. All a lie.”
How does this happen? By using propaganda.
“Propaganda, is often spread through word of mouth. Someone you know tells you its’s good.” (whether true or false). “How did hundreds of millions of people believe Iraq was behind the 9/11 attacks when it apparently was not? How did millions believe a perfectly legitimate election was stolen and almost cause a coup? The power of persuasion. And few places are more persuasive, more influential, than the internet, social media. Eventually a critical mass is hit. A tipping point.”
Sound familiar? This is exactly what has happened under POTUS 45/47. Isn’t it ironic that it takes our friends from Canada to make us see the light. Millions of Americans allowed them selves to be duped by a con man using exactly the methods described above. Time to wake up, America and set things right!
