Vote for Republicans

Dear Sirs,

It appears that the wild and radical democrats (including socialism) have a serious sickness that cannot be cured. They simply are not willing to read history that showed the repetitive disasters of the past. We would expect to see the official termination of our great way of living if the new democrats win in this coming November. The American people desperately needs to bring back common sense democrats again or, even better than that, they need to vote for republicans (including U.S. Senator Mike Rogers).

Sincerely,

Ken Senkow

Fear of God missing

To the Editor:

Recently I saw a poster that said, “Missing. Fear of God. If found: Please return to the church and our hearts.” Proverbs 1:7 admonishes us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” The biblically based definition of fearing God is our reverent response to recognizing who God really is.

In the 66 books of the KJV Bible, God chose to reveal Himself. When we recognize God’s perfect holiness, that’s when we comprehend ourselves properly. Isaiah, seeing Almighty God, cried out, “Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of host.” (Isaiah 6:5)

Fallen humans can’t gaze on God’s glory without realizing how depraved they really are compared to God. This is what Christians have lost today. Instead of fearing God, their gaze is fixed on this world. Whereas they used to feel conviction about certain sins, these days their senses have dulled. Claiming to be followers of Jesus, their spiritual sensitivity has deadened. These same people now support full-blown acceptance and celebration of sin.

Spiritual desensitization begins by untethering from the authority of God’s Word. Once done, people think the Word is just spiritual suggestions and moral stories and they start inventing their own moral code. One example: marriage is whatever a person wants it to be, not God designed. In other words, they rebrand sin. ZERO fear of God.

Isaiah recognized sinful, unclean, fallen people around him. Paul sums this up rightly in Romans 3:10-18 “There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable….”

When the ancient nation of Israel fell into utter depravity, God delivered both warnings and hope through his prophet in Ezekiel 18:30-31: “Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?”

If you decide to repent, then turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, trust Him and follow Him, and He WILL make you that new heart and new spirit.
