CALUMET -- Faith Lutheran Church of Calumet invites the entire community to join in celebrating 150 years of ministry, faith, and service during a special anniversary celebration on Saturday, July 18.

Since its founding in 1876, Faith Lutheran Church has been a place where generations of families have gathered to worship, serve their neighbors, celebrate life’s milestones, and share God’s love throughout the Copper Country. This milestone anniversary offers an opportunity not only to honor the church’s rich history, but also to celebrate the vibrant community that continues to shape its future.

The day will feature activities and entertainment for all ages, including:

• Live music and entertainment

• Food trucks and local vendors

• Children’s games and family activities

• Raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle

• Historical presentations highlighting the story of Lutheran ministry in the Keweenaw

• Opportunities to explore the church’s history and heritage

• Fellowship, fun, and community celebration throughout the day

Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the important role Lutheran congregations have played in the development of the Keweenaw Peninsula while enjoying a festive atmosphere filled with music, food, laughter, and community spirit.

“While we are proud to celebrate 150 years of ministry, this day is really about the people,” said Pastor Jared Howard. “For generations, Faith Lutheran has been a place where people have found hope, friendship, purpose, and God’s grace. We look forward to welcoming our neighbors, former members, visitors, and friends as we celebrate our past and look forward to the future together.”

The celebration is open to everyone, regardless of church affiliation. Community members, former residents, alumni families, visitors, and anyone interested in local history are encouraged to attend.

Come celebrate 150 years of faith, one gospel, one people--and help us look forward to the next chapter of ministry and community in the Copper Country.
